William Brown grew up sailing on Long Beach Island, NJ. He started sailing Opti’s at 6 years old and sailed them till he was 14. Will was on the US National Team at age 11 and competed in the Optimist North American and South American Championships.

Will then moved on to 420s and Lasers, which he sailed up until college. Will recently graduated from Brown University where he sailed for all 4 years and was named an ICSA All-American his senior year while helping the Bears to a top 5 ranking and 3rd place finish at the National Championships.

Will continues his sailing in the Lightning class, qualifying for next year’s world championships. He is very excited to enter his first year as the coach of the Columbia University Sailing Team.
